Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso…
We propose aims to provide better knowledge of several aspects of the
largest and most important Jewish communities in Southern France,
through the visits of the " Carrieres " (Jewish quarter),
Synagogues and Museums.
Encountering these environments is a direct link to Jewish history,
taking an emotional journey back to the past.
You will discover, as a surprise, that the greatest defenders of Jewish
rights, prior to the French Revolution, were the Popes who protected
them within their territories around Avignon.
The French Jewish Community has left us with a remarkable collection of
works in the scientific, mystical, medical and philosophical fields.
Later on many Jews have played here an important part in political life
