Day 1: Paris, Chateau Country. (Blois, Clos Luce)
Suggested departure from Paris
9am. 2 hours drive to Chateau de Colliers, east of Blois.Drop off your
luggage in your room. On to Blois (20 minutes) for free time for lunch
and walk through medieval town. Tour of Blois royal chateau (1 h 15), illustrating
French architecture from the 15th to the 17th century.
On to Amboise (30 minutes) for tour of Clos Luce, Leonardo da Vinci’s manor
house, sheltering a Museum of his inventions (1h). Back to chateau Colliers
(50 minutes) for drink on the terrace overlooking the Loire. Dinner at
leisure in Muides sur Loire (next to Colliers)
Overnight at Chateau
de Colliers, a private manor on the Loire riverbanks.
Day 2: Chateau Country. (Chambord, Cheverny, Chaumont)
Breakfast at the château.
Suggested departure time: 9:45am
On to Chambord (15 minutes)
for tour of royal castle, the largest in Europe (2 hours). Lunch at leisure.
On to Cheverny (30 minutes) for tour of this 17th century furnished
castle (1 h). On to Chaumont (40 minutes) for tour of this fortress castle
where Benjamin Franklin spent some time (3/4 hour). On to Blois (30minutes)
for free time for dinner (at leisure). Back to Colliers (20 minutes) for
overnight.
Day 3: Chateau Country. Normandy. (Mont St
Michel)
Breakfast
at the chateau. Suggested departure time: 8; 30am.On to Mont Saint Michel
(4 hours). Drop off your luggage in your room at famous " Mere
Poulard" on the island. Free time for lunch (at leisure). Tour
of Mont St Michel's abbey (2 hours) and free time for shopping. Dinner
at leisure (sample Mere Poulard's omelet). Overnight Mere Poulard.
Day 4: Normandy. (WWII Caen Memorial Museum, Bayeux Tapestry)

at Mere Poulard.Suggested departure time: 10am.2 hours to Caen.Free
time for lunch at leisure at Caen Memorial Museum’s cafeteria.3 hours
tour of this interactive WWI Museum. On to Bayeux (1h) for tour of Bayeux’s
tapestry relating the invasion of England by William the conqueror in
53 scenes 12th century embroidery. On to Chateau Sully (15
minutes) for dinner at leisure. Overnight Chateau de Sully.
Day 5: Normandy (Invasion Beaches)
Breakfast at the château.
Suggested departure time: 10 am.
On to German batteries of
Longes Sur Mer. (30 minutes). 40 minutes tour including command post bunker.
Back tracking to Arromanches viewpoint (15 minutes) for overview of remains
of Mulberry artificial harbor (15 minutes). On to Port en Bessin typical
fisherman harbor (15 minutes) for free time for lunch at leisure. On to
Omaha (30 minutes) for tour of American Cemetery (1h). Stop along various
Monuments along Omaha Beach. On to Cap Du Hoc (20 minutes) for tour of
remains of German batteries which were located on the top of the cliffs
overlooking the whole invasion beaches area. They were taken with heavy
casualties by the Texas Rangers (monument)
Back to Bayeux (45 minutes).
Free time for shopping and dinner at leisure. Back to Chateau de Sully
(15 minutes) for overnight.
Day 6: Normandy, Paris. (Deauville, Honfleur, Giverny)
Breakfast at the château.
Suggested departure time: 9:30am.On to Deauville resort (1h45). Free time.
On to Honfleur fisherman harbor (45 minutes) for free time for lunch at
leisure and shopping. On to Giverny (2h). Tour of Giverny Monet's house
and gardens. (1h15). On to Paris (1h15).
