Day 1: Paris – Normandy (Giverny, Honfleur, Caen WWII Memorial Museum)

Morning departure from Paris. Suggested time: 9am. 1 hour drive to Giverny for tour of Monet’s house and gardens (1h1/2)
1-hour ½ drive to Honfleur fisherman harbor. Free time for lunch. 1 hour drive to Caen for 3 hours tour of interactive of WWII Memorial Museum.
40 minutes drive to Ferme de la Ranconniere, northeast of Bayeux for Dinner (drinks not included) and overnight.
 

Day 2: Normandy (Invasion Beaches, Bayeux Tapestry)

Breakfast at the Ranconniere.Suggested departure time: 9:00am
30 minutes drive to German gun batteries of Longues sur Mer.40 minutes tour including command bunker.10 minutes drive to Arromanches view point, overlooking the bay with remains of Mulberry artificial harbor used for landing. (15 minutes). 15 minutes drive to Port en Bessin scenic harbor .20 minutes drive to Omaha beach American Cemetery (1h1/2 visit). Free time for lunch by Omaha beach. 30 minutes drive along Omaha beach with Memorial monuments.20 minutes drive to Pointe du Hoc for tour of this historic site where the rangers took over the German guns covering Omaha Beach area (45 minutes). 40 minutes drive to Bayeux.Tour of Queen Mathilda tapestry (1h1/2), relating in a 53 scenes 12th century wool embroidery the invasion of England by William. Duke of Normandy. Free time for shopping in Bayeux.
25 minutes drive toFerme de la Ranconniere for dinner (drinks not included) and overnight.
 

Day 3: Normandy (Saint Malo, Mont St Michel)

Breakfast at Ferme de la Ranconniere. Suggested departure time 9am.
3 hours drive to Saint Malo. Free time for lunch. Little excursion train tour of this walled  17 Th century privateers harbor town (45 minutes). 45 minutes drive to Mont St Michel.

(30 minutes climb, preferably along the walls +1h1/2 tour of the abbey + ½ hour free time for shopping while descending the hill through the main tiny street). 40 minutes drive to private Chateau des Blosses for dinner with wine and overnight.

Day 4: Normandy. Chateau Country. (Fougeres, Le Mans)

Breakfast at the chateau. Suggested departure time: 9:45am.

On to Fougeres (30 minutes) for 15 minutes overview of walled fortress.1h1/2 drive to Le Mans.free time for lunch and discover the medieval town. Tour of Automobile Museum with exhibits of cars from 1885 to 1990 (1h1/2). 1h30 minutes to Domaine de la Tortiniere, south of Tours for dinner (drinks not included) and overnight.

Day 5: Chateau Country. (Azay,Villandry,Langeais,Vouvray Wines)
Breakfast at the Domaine.Suggested departure time: 9; 30am.30 minutes drive to Azay le Rideau. 1h1/2 for the tour of this gem of a Renaissance chateau.15 minutes drive to Villandry. Free time for lunch at the terrace cafeteria in front of the chateau gate.1h1/2 tour of formal gardens of Villandry.30 minutes drive to Langeais for a 1 h tour of this furnished medieval fortress.40 minutes drive to Vouvray for tour of wine cellars and wine tasting. (40 minutes). 15 minutes drive to the city of Tours. Free time for discovery and shopping.20 minutes drive to Domaine de la Tortiniere for dinner (drinks not included) and overnight.

Day 6: Chateau Country (Chenonceaux, Chambord)

Breakfast at the Domaine. Suggested departure time at 9am.1 h drive to Chenonceaux for 1h1/2 tour of this chateau built over the Cher River and its magnificent gardens. Free time for lunch at the cafeteria located in the former stables.1 h drive to Chambord, shadowing Versailles by its size.2 hours tour.1 hour drive to chateau de Chissay, a couple of miles east of Chenonceaux, for overnight. (Dinner at leisure)
 
 

Day 7: Chateau Country – Paris (Chartres, Versailles)

Breakfast at the Chateau. Suggested departure time: 9:30am. 2 hours drive to Chartres.Try to catch Malcolm Miller tour at 12noon in the cathedral, which is famous for its stained glass windows. Free time for lunch.1 hour drive to Versailles.2 hours for tour of the chateau and 1 hour for gardens. Back to Paris. (1 hour drive) 

Optional Extension in Paris or overnight at the airport
